DiagnosticReportCore
Introduction
This resource is an event resource from a FHIR workflow perspective - see Workflow.
DiagnosticReport resource is normally used for exposing any information which is exposed as a report. DiagnosticReport resource provides a clinical or workflow context for a set of observations and the Observation resource is referenced by DiagnosticReport to represent laboratory, imaging, and other clinical and diagnostic data to form a complete report. This profile is created based on DiagnosticReport standard profile in FHIR.
Use cases for the DiagnosticReport resource include:
- Show lab report requests/answers sent related to chemistry
- Show radiology lab report related information
- Show microbiology lab report related information
Intended Use
This profile is used to expose information that has the final results in a report. The profiles derived can be used for exposing information such as radiology reports, microbiology report, lab reports etc. When using, a new profile can be created by limiting fields based on the requirement from the defined core profile.
