2026 Simplifier User Survey Results

Earlier this year, we asked the Simplifier community how they use Simplifier, Forge, and Firely Terminal in their day-to-day FHIR work. First of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to participate.

The results paint a clear picture of the community we're building together. Simplifier is being used by experienced FHIR professionals working on interoperability projects where quality, collaboration, and reliability matter every day. Forty percent of respondents have more than five years of FHIR experience, 61% identify as data modelers, and more than half work in public health or government organizations.

The features that are most valued

The survey highlighted what capabilities and feature users rely on most.

  1. Browsing and reusing existing projects (75.6%)
  2. Validating FHIR resources (68.3%)
  3. Publishing Implementation Guides publicly to drive adoption (51.2%)

We're pleased to see that these experiences closely align with our vision of Simplifier as the central platform for building and publishing FHIR implementation guides people can trust.

Or as one of the respondents put it: "We finally have a central and reliable workspace for FHIR modeling and implementation."

We heard you

Just as important as learning what works well was understanding where can improve.

Across the responses, several themes consistently emerged:

  • More comprehensive documentation
  • Enhanced IG authoring
  • Optimized IG publication process
  • Better quality assurance and validation tooling
  • Improved search and rendering features
  • Pricing and packages that match your team's needs

This feedback is already helping shape our product roadmap. Many of these themes directly align with the areas we're investing in as we continue to evolve Simplifier.

Simplifier honours the version in a reference when resolving, with two new quality-control rules to help you pin safely. On top of that, the platform has moved to .NET 10, alongside a set of UI improvements and bug fixes.
