The Forge 2026.2.0 release brings the profiling engine up to the latest .NET foundation, adds support for the suppression extension, and refines validation and project navigation. Here is what changed and what it means for your workflow.

Updated Framework and SDK

.NET 10 and Firely .NET SDK 6.2.1: Forge now runs on .NET 10 and uses Firely .NET SDK 6.2.1. This keeps Forge aligned with the latest runtime and SDK, and brings the underlying FHIR handling in step with Simplifier and Firely Terminal.

Please note: This release requires the .NET 10 runtime. On most machines Forge will install it as part of the update. If you use a managed laptop or otherwise cannot install software yourself, you may need your IT department to install the .NET 10 runtime before Forge 2026.2.0 will run.

Enhanced Modeling

Support for the suppression extension: You can now work with the suppression extension in your profiles, giving you more control over how elements are handled in your modeling. Note that suppression is not yet reflected in Simplifier. We are working on upgrading Simplifier to Firely .NET SDK 6 as well, which will bring support for suppression in the rendering.

Faster loading of complex profiles: Loading has been optimized for profiles with many expanded content reference elements, so large and heavily referenced profiles open more quickly.

Validation and Quality Control

Legacy SDK .NET Validator removed from Quality Control: The Legacy SDK .NET Validator is no longer supported in Quality Control. Following the switch to the new Firely validator as the default engine in the previous release, QC now relies on the current validator.

Project View Improvements

Cleaner Structure Type filter: In the Project view, the Structure Type filter now shows only Abstract Types, Data Types, and Resource Types, making it easier to narrow down what you are looking for.

Bug Fixes

Navigate to… on conformance resources: Fixed an issue where the Navigate to… command in the context menu of a Quality Control issue did not work for elements of a conformance resource such as OperationDefinition.
