Model overview

A request, booking, contact and treatment record serve different purposes, even when they belong to the same visit. The arrows show selected references between them; select a box to open its profile on Simplifier.

ServiceRequest describes future care, Appointment reserves time, and Encounter records an actual contact. EpisodeOfCare can span multiple contacts but is optional. Clinical, medication and allergy records add information about the patient and their care; they do not form a required sequence. In particular, the current profiles do not require a direct MedicationRequest → MedicationAdministration → MedicationStatement chain.

Shared patient and provider context

The same Patient, Practitioner, PractitionerRole, Organization and Location records can be referenced from several DigiDOT records. Practitioner identifies a person; PractitionerRole can describe that person's role at an Organization or Location, but is not required. Patient.generalPractitioner identifies a nominated provider, not the participant in a specific Encounter.

All direct DigiDOT-to-no-basis links

A filled junction shows a permitted direct reference from a DigiDOT profile to one of the five shared Norwegian base profiles. It does not make the reference mandatory. The lower panel shows selected links between those national profiles.

To inspect the exact reference fields for one profile, use Profile connections. The Profile map lists the resource profiles, shared formats and ValueSets.
