FHIR Data Modelers, I’ve got some exciting news for you! At Simplifier.net, we know that managing, validating, and publishing FHIR resources can sometimes feel like a hassle. That’s why we’re rolling out some powerful new functionality designed to make your life easier, whether you’re working on private FHIR IGs, validating resources, or refining your implementation guides.

Here’s what’s new and why it matters to you.

🚀 Private FHIR Package Feeds: Keep Your Work Secure

Ever wanted a private space to develop and manage your FHIR Implementation Guides? Now you can!

With our new Private FHIR Package Feeds, you can create versioned FHIR resource packages that are only accessible to the people you choose. Whether you’re working on proprietary healthcare models, confidential clinical guidelines, or unpublished research, you no longer have to expose your work to the public before it’s ready.

Why this matters:

✔ Keep your work private and secure

✔ Build a structured hierarchy of FHIR data models in a closed environment

✔ Share access with only your selected team members

Note: no extra software needed—just pure cloud-based convenience!

The docs have the full documentation of Package Feeds.

🔎 A Smarter, More Powerful FHIR Validator

Good news for those who rely on validation: Simplifier.net now supports the completely rewritten .NET FHIR Validator — one of the most powerful FHIR validation engines available.

This means:

✔ More accurate validation of your FHIR resources

✔ A smoother validation experience with an improved UI

✔ Easier troubleshooting of complex validation errors

The new validator is already live in our Validation Playground (try it out here), and soon it will be integrated into our Quality Control features as well.

✍️ The Most User-Friendly Online FHIR Shorthand Editor

FHIR Shorthand (FSH) is an incredibly powerful way to author FHIR profiles, but let’s be honest — getting started hasn’t always been easy. That’s changing now!

We’re introducing the most user-friendly, zero-install online FHIR Shorthand editor directly in Simplifier.

This means you can:

✔ Write FSH directly in your browser—no setup required

✔ Manage multiple .fsh files seamlessly with direct visualization of your resources

✔ Work with package dependencies without the usual headaches

This feature is currently in beta, so if you’re excited to try it out and provide feedback, let us know! 🚀

📦 Better Package Management Across Multiple Projects

If you’ve ever published FHIR packages from multiple Simplifier projects, you might have faced challenges in tracking where each version came from. We’ve now improved how we link packages to projects, so:

✔ Every package version is linked to the exact project it was published from

✔ Each project only displays the package versions that originated there

✔ Managing multiple branches of an IG just became way more intuitive!

This makes it much easier to organize your work across different projects and maintain clarity in versioning.

🏷 Fine-Tune Resource Names and Descriptions in Your Package

We know that metadata matters. That’s why we’ve enhanced our metadata expressions feature so you can:

✔ Update titles and descriptions of resources dynamically

✔ Apply metadata changes retroactively to existing resources

✔ Keep your project neat, organized, and easy to navigate

No more struggling with resource names that don’t make sense—now you have full control!

💡 What’s Next?

We’re continuously improving Simplifier.net to help you model, validate, and publish FHIR resources faster and with less friction. Whether you're a seasoned expert or just getting started, these updates are designed to make your workflow smoother and more efficient.

🔥 Try out the new features today! And if you have any feedback, we’d love to hear it. Let’s build the future of FHIR together. 🚀
