Example 8 - Detection of Candida auris

The methods illustrated in this example are:

Candida auris can be responsible for systemic infections. Detection is often performed as part of a pathogen screening based on culture diagnostics and thus involves the same diagnostic steps as in Example 1 and Example 2 with detection of a bacterial pathogen. The codes used with the non-specific LOINC "41852-5 Microorganism or agent identified in Specimen" as well as the codes for the methods used correspond to those shown previously in Example 1 and Example 2. Only the SNOMED code as "Observation.value" now describes Candida auris.
