This value set is based on the 'CodeSystemFachabteilungsschluesselErweitert' value set from the German HL7 Base Profile, but additionally contains supplementary codes for medical specialties as defined in Annex 1 of the BPflV, which have been specified by the RKI based on the requirements of existing surveillance systems.
