Use Case - Publish Patient Summary Report
This use case provides the capability for the provincial service to create a standardized patient summary report from the submitted data, for publication to one or more consuming systems.
Basic Flow: Produce and Publish Patient Summary Textual Report
1. Create Patient Summary Report
Hub Provincial Service assembles the submitted patient summary data into the standard report template layout.
- Business Rule – Patient Summary Report Formatting:
- Each page of the report contains the following standard header and footer:
- Header: ULI / PHN, Patient first name, Patient last name, Patient gender code, and Patient birth-date formatted as yyyy-mmm-dd (e.g. 1990-Jan-01)
- Footer: Page number and total page count (e.g. page 1 of 3)
- Disclaimer statement is included above the clinical content; stating that the reader is responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of the report contents.
- If any report section (data domain) has no data to populate from the submission, a text string stating “No data submitted” is placed in that section of the textual report.
- Each page of the report contains the following standard header and footer:
- Business Rule – Separate Report per Submission: Each patient summary submission is assembled into its own separate report. Contents are not combined across different authors and/or clinics into the same report.
2. Publish Patient Summary Report to Consuming System(s)
Hub Provincial Service generates the outbound patient summary report message(s), and sends to the destination consuming system(s) for publication.
- Structure and metadata of the patient summary report message may vary, according to the requirements of the consuming system. The textual report itself is the same for all consumers, as produced through this use case function.
3. End
Use Case ends.
Alternate Scenario: Cancel Existing Patient Summary Report
This flow is initiated as an alternate entry to the Basic Flow, when a patient summary is submitted by the authoring provider with a status requesting cancellation of its previous submission and/or publication.
