This value set contains codes that represent the requirements for chlamydia diagnostics. After selecting whether the sample is a screening specimen or from a clinically symptomatic patient—which can be specified for all samples in ARS under ServiceRequest.code—additional information about the request or the reason for chlamydia diagnostics can be provided.
If it is a screening specimen, further distinctions can be made between screening in women under 25 years old, screening during pregnancy, and screening as part of HIV PrEP. If the sample is from a clinically symptomatic person, the reason for chlamydia diagnostics can be further specified as abortion, gynecological surgery, or partner testing.
The specific requirements apply only to diagnostics for Chlamydia trachomatis in participants of the Chlamydia Sentinel program.
