Patient record management

Patient Record Management APIs allow Health Information Systems (HIS) to create, update and read patients in Roche ecosystem.

The aim of the Patient Record Management APIs is:

1. To optimize the workflow of healthcare professionals (HCPs) in hospitals by enabling them to create patients directly through their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, eliminating the need to manually create patients in the RDCP portal.
2. To provide an easy way to link the patient information, which is then ingested into the Platform and shared with the EMRs.By using the Patient Record Management APIs, healthcare organizations can streamline their operations, improve patient care, and enhance the overall patient experience.

Data Flow

Patient create/update

1. The administrative creates or update a patient in the HIS.

2. The EMR middleware system transforms the message delivered by HIS into the FHIR message and send it to ROCHE FHIR API.
   Roche creates or updates the patient in Diabetes Care Platform and sends a response to the EMR middleware with the transaction details.

Patient read

1. EMR Middleware retrieves patient demographics for a specific patient previously created by the same EMR Middleware.
