Usage
A MedicationStatement indicates medications that the patient is taking now, has taken in the past, or may take in the future. The source of this information can be the patient, significant other (such as a family member or spouse), or a clinician.
RAPIDS will accept medication statements from the source system and may also send a suggested medication statement back to the source system.
Notes
RAPIDS is primarily interested in medications pertaining to mental health, but will accept any incoming medications. Codification is required with the preferred codification being DIN.
If status is one of stopped, on-hold, or not-taken statusReason should be sent, ideally using a SNOMED CT code. If this codification is not possible, text will be accepted.
While RAPIDS will make medication suggestions, it is up to the patient's practitioner to confirm tolerability and have awareness of drug interactions and correct dosage.
