The following names (URIs) may be used in the system element of the Identifier data type. If a URI is defined here, it SHALL be used in preference to any other identifying mechanism. If an identifier system is not listed here, the correct URI may be determined by working with the Standards team.

OLIS may return out-of-province practitioner identifiers using a set of URIs with naming convention below.

Note 1: Possible provider type values are "physician", "dentist", "pharmacist", "nurse", "midwife", "naturopath"

Note 2: Canadian province codes will use lower case: “bc”, “ab”, “sk”, “qc”, “nb”, “ns”, “pe”, “nl”, “yt”, “nt”, “nu”, and “mb”
