MIABIS on FHIR aims to provide a FHIR profile implementation of MIABIS specification.
The Minimum Information About Biobank Data Sharing (MIABIS) is a biobank-specific terminology that enables the sharing of minimal biobank-related data for different purposes across a wide range of database implementation sites. MIABIS aims to standardize the data elements that describe biobanks, their samples, and related information, with the primary objective of improving interoperability among biobanks sharing their valuable resources.
MIABIS is made of two primary components:
- Core Components
- Biobank
- Collection
- Network
- Individual-level components.
- Sample Donor
- Sample
This implementation includes:
- FHIR Resource Profiles and Extensions
- ValueSets and CodeSystems
- Examples of individual Resources
