eDischarge


There is no formal workflow defined for the discharge process. The relevant discharge summary is triggered on the event "on discharge". The encounter resource is used to temporarily group the clinical information pertaining to the care encounter/episode from which the patient is discharged.

The Encounter Resource represent the inpatient stay and can contain important information such as:

  • When the patient was admitted
  • Why the patient was admitted
  • When the patient was discharged
  • Where the patient was discharged to
  • Who was involved in the encounter

Outpatient Letter


The Outpatient Letter does not support any real "work flow" but uses the Encounter Resource to give context to the information contained in the Outpatient Letter document. The Encounter Resource represents the Outpatient appointment and can contain important information such as:

  • When the patient attended the appointment
  • Why the patient attended the appointment
  • Who was involved in the appointment

Mental Health eDischarge


The Mental Health eDischarge does not support any real "work flow" but uses the Encounter Resource to give context to the information contained in the eDischarge document. The Encounter Resource represent the inpatient stay and can contain important information such as:

  • When the patient was admitted
  • Why the patient was admitted
  • When the patient was discharged
  • Where the patient was discharged to
  • Who was involved in the encounter

Emergency Care eDischarge


The Emergency Care eDischarge does not support any real "work flow" but uses the Encounter Resource to give context to the information contained in the eDischarge document. The Encounter Resource represent the inpatient stay and can contain important information such as:

  • When the patient was admitted
  • Why the patient was admitted
  • When the patient was discharged
  • Where the patient was discharged to
  • Who was involved in the encounter
