Evolution of Specification
The Pan-Canadian Patient Summary project leverages an iterative, consensus-driven, version-based approach for publishing specification content. For more information on the PS-CA Specifications release cycle, readers should review the Pan-Canadian Interoperability PS-CA Release Information page.
This specification has undergone multiple cycles of stakeholder review, validation, and feedback to refine and shape the constraints put forth in the PS-CA FHIR Implementation Guide.
FHIR® Profiling Versioning Process
As this specification has been refined through multiple rounds of feedback from various engagement activities , the profiles use a versioning system to help implementers understand their development status prior to the formal release of PS-CA v1.0.0 TI specification.
Further releases (e.g., PS-CA 1.1.0 DFT, PS-CA 2.0.0) will be developed and managed through the Patient Summary Working Group and informed by the Data Content Standards in the pan-Canadian Health Data Content Framework.
