PDS Related Person Network
A PDS-related person is an individual associated with a patient’s record in the NHS Personal Demographics Service (PDS), such as a next of kin, carer, guardian, or other relevant contact. The NHS PDS API allows healthcare systems to retrieve and update these relationships, ensuring accurate and up-to-date demographic data.
What is the Aim of this Implementation Guide?
This implementation guide provides guidance on implementing the PDS-Related Person model using the FHIR R4 API to support interoperability within NHS systems. It outlines how healthcare organisations can retrieve, record, and update related person details within the Personal Demographics Service (PDS) while ensuring data accuracy and provenance.
