The Ontario eReferral FHIR Implementation Guide (IG) was written to support implementers of systems that will use HL7 FHIR to support the electronic transfer of information between systems when patients are referred from one healthcare practitioner or service provider to another in the province of Ontario. It provides business context, use cases and information flows that are specific to the emerging Ontario eReferral ecosystem and is expected to be generic enough to support various referral pathways (such as Primary Care Provider to Home and Community Care).
