FAQs

  • How do eReferral Payments work? In Ocean, eReferral senders are currently not required to pay to send eReferrals. However, as an eReferral receiver, there might be some payments required. Additionally, you might be eligible to receive eReferrals for free through your provincial program. More information can be found here.

  • How long does the integration process typically take? This is typically dependent on the EMR vendors capabilities and capacity. However, we do recommend estimating approximately 3-4months for the integration implementation and UAT process.

  • Where can I find payload examples? Payload examples for the v0.11.1 implementation can be found in this link. However, we strongly advise that the examples presented here should not be strictly copied, but should rather be used as a reference, with the information in the Ontario v0.11.1 eReferral iGuide being used as a framework.

  • Paying for integration support The integration implementation can be typically completed by the EMR vendors with support from our documentation and articles and/or support from the provincial program. However, in the case that additional support is required, Ocean is happy to support through a direct invoicing to the project. We generally recommend that a bundle of 15 – 25 hours be purchased, depending on the complexity of the project and FHIR expertise of the project’s technical team. The scope of the services includes meeting participation, technical support (Q & A), troubleshooting and UAT for a duration of 4 months. For more information regarding this, please reach out to support@oceanmd.com to inquire.

  • Who do I reach out to for assistance with my integration? Our support team is happy to assist with any questions or issues you might experience during the implementation of your integration, UAT, go-live, or simply any stage you are with your integration. Please reach out to our team at support@oceanmd.com or through the Ocean support portal.
