Extensions

This page lists all of the Extensions defined in CA Core+. There may be additional extensions used from external sources such as the HL7 Extension Registry which are referenced in CA Core+ profiles.

Data Type Description
Abatement The date or estimated date that the allergy or intolerance resolved. This is called abatement because of the many overloaded connotations associated with resolution.
BirthSex A code classifying the person's sex assigned at birth. Replicates the birthsex extension in US-Core-R4 for interoperability.
BirthTime Re-publishing of patient-birthTime extension with expanded context of use to allow application to Person.dateTime while the issue submitted to the extensions pack to expand the global extension is resolved.
CommunicationBarrier The extension is required to identify if the patient speaks/understands an offical language (english/french), or if an interpretor is required.
CopiedParticipants Extension used to CC updates to the ServiceRequest in cases of forwarding referrals
Dates Affecting Readiness to Consult Dates Affecting Readiness to Consult (DARC) and is defines as: Periods of time between the referral and consult date when the patient is unavailable for a first consultation due to patient-related reasons.
Dates Affecting Readiness to Treat Dates Affecting Readiness to Treat (DART) and is defined as: Periods of time between the Decision To Treat (DTT) and the Procedure Date when the patient is unavailable for a procedure due to patient-related reasons.
ElementValidityPeriod The period for which an element is valid.
IndigenousIdentity A code classifying a person's self-identification as either First Nations, Inuk/Inuit and/or Métis.
MedicationRenderedDosage Provides a complete text rendering of the dosage instruction lines for an order or dispense.
PatientNeedsToBeSeen Following a consult, this extension is used to identify if a patient needs to be seen in person.
PatientPresentLocation Extension used to communicate the present location of the patient if it is different than the patient's home address.
Pronouns The pronouns to use when referring to an individual in verbal or written communication. This extension is published in this guide to pre-adopt an extension published in R5 and re-profile it further through CA Core+ project. This extension is an R4 (4.0.1) conversion and re-profiling of the canonical extension published in the R5 FHIR Extensions Pack.
RacializedGroup A code that identifies a social construct most often characterized by phenotype or appearance (e.g. skin colour) in which the client identifies.
RoutingOptions This is an extension required for Referral Source Type identification. Only one referral routing object expected.
TaskBusinessStatusReason A reason for why the business reason is as it is.
TaskReferralStatus A reason for why the referral reason is as it is.
UsageLicense Describes the licensing conditions under which this HealthcareService (and related) resources may be used.
