Extensions

The profiles in this specification make use of the extensions that are maintained by external specifications, notably extensions published by IPS-UV and the CA Baseline.

These extensions are socialized to ensure that, if the data is available (and appropriate) to include in a patient summary, modeling of that data will be consistent.

Note: Implementors should be aware of known issues that the Simplifier tool has for rendering extensions.

  • Extensions on elements with choice of data type will not render in the differential when displayed in Simplifier. In these cases, the extension will be called out.

Data Absent Reason

This extension is published by HL7 and is used by the following elements in PS-CA:

Abatement dateTime

This extension is published by IPS and is used by the following elements in PS-CA:

  • AllergyIntolerance

Identifier Version

This extension is published by the CA Baseline and is used by the following elements in PS-CA:

  • Patient.identifier

Translation

This extension is published by HL7 and is used by the following elements in PS-CA:

Medication Strength

Note: An interim release of this Implementation Guide included the Medication Strength Description extension published by the Prescribe IT specification and the CA Baseline. It is no longer used.
