Intended Audiences

The intended audiences of this document are health information custodians, their agents and electronic service providers who are providing the technical capability for health information custodians and their agents to submit electronic referral and consult requests.

The audiences for this specification includes Ontario Health programs and any other organizations implementing the specifications contained in this guide. This includes technical and business audiences who will use it to develop implementations and to validate that they conform to the specifications and to the requirements of stakeholder organizations.

Refer to the Use Cases page for the details of organizations/programs (such as Home Care Service Providers, Community Service, etc.)

Readers of this iG are expected to understand the RESTful paradigm and have a basic understanding of HL7 FHIR R4, FHIR messaging and SMART App Launch Framework.
