Scope

The HL7 FHIR interface of SAMPLES is used for the integration into clinical environments and processes.

It was developed as an adapter and is based on SAMPLES' GraphQL and REST API.

The scope of this interface includes all data and functions for the integration of the laboratory in the process of examining patient's samples in a clinical context:

• in order to commission the laboratory with the examination, the patient, diagnosis, medication and all necessary information about the samples to be examined, are sent to the laboratory as part of a laboratory request

• during the further processing of the samples in the laboratory (registration, preparation, examination, testing and release), the progress and status can be continuously queried and tracked

• as soon as test results are available, the individual parameter values can also be queried via the interface
