Terminology
Standard terminology is one of pillars of ths implementation guide. Without standard terminology it is challenging to set up specific triggers for next steps, particularly with walking the multiple trees of this CCG.
In this example IG SNOMED CT, and RadLex were primarily used. For example RadLex is used to specify all the codes in the radiology activities, while SNOMED handles the majority of procedure and diagnosis codes.
The table below shighlights some of the codes that were used for this proof of concept:
Concept | Display Name | System | Context |
---|---|---|---|
66857006 | Hemoptysis | SNOMED CT | Used to suggest possible guidleines for enrollment |
16334891000119106 | Low dose computed tomography of chest without contrast (procedure) | SNOMED CT | Used to order a Chest CT |
RID50135 | Lung-RADS 0 | RADLEX | Used to indicate a score of 0 |
RID50136 | Lung-RADS 1 | RADLEX | Used to indicate a score of 1 |
RID50137 | Lung-RADS 2 | RADLEX | Used to indicate a score of 2 |
RID50138 | Lung-RADS 3 | RADLEX | Used to indicate a score of 3 |
RID50139 | Lung-RADS 4A | RADLEX | Used to indicate a score of 4A |
RID50140 | Lung-RADS 4B | RADLEX | Used to indicate a score of 4B |
RID50141 | Lung-RADS 4X | RADLEX | Used to indicate a score of 4X |
