Introduction

Canonical URL

Any conformance resource needs a canonical URL. This preferably leads somewhere but does not have to be processable. Canonical URL's are about the identity of artifacts, not necessarily about retrieval location. URIs for the latter are described in section Retrieval locations.

For Enterprise Imaging profiles we SHALL use the following structure:

For profiles
- http://[domain]/ei/fhir/StructureDefinition/EI[resource]
For Extensions
- pertaining to 1 resource without covering a clear domain. These extensions contribute to the resources as a whole without serving a single purpose or domain.
- pertaining to 1 resource and covers a specific domain.
  - http://[domain]/ei/fhir/StructureDefinition/EI[purpose]Extension
- pertaining to a single element
  - if the use context is a single resource: http://[domain]/ei/fhir/StructureDefinition/EI[resource][purpose]Extension
  - otherwise http://[domain]/ei/fhir/StructureDefinition/EI[purpose]Extension
