Identifier Systems
Identifier Systems Usage
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that the examples are correct and useful, they are not a normative part of the specification. In FHIR, an identifier system is a namespace (usually a URI or OID) that defines the scope and authority of an identifier — it tells you where the identifier comes from and how it should be interpreted.
The NamingSystem resource can be accessed at HL7 R4 NamingSystem.
For guidance on migrating OIDs to FHIR-compliant identifiers, refer to the HL7 Confluence page on Migrating OIDs to FHIR.
