Scope
This implementation guide is developed as part of Ontario Health's plan to facilitate the exchange of clinical patient and other healthcare system data using FHIR. It is the technical specification to search and retrieve acCDR data by the provincial clinical viewer, in order to allow practitioners to view patient's hospital data from across the province. The current design of this implementation guide focuses on FHIR representation of patient visits, allergies, and clinical docuements.
The purpose of this implementation guide is to develop guidance and explore potential of using FHIR standard for acCDR data consumpton. This aligns with the provincial strategy that FHIR will be the primary healthcare interoperability standard in health data exchange in Ontario.
