DFT Ballot - This specification is currently in ballot review and subject to change. It is not ready for limited roll-out or production level use. For a full list of available versions, see the Directory of published versions

Profiles and Extensions

At this time, the CA:FeX specification does not define any specific profiles, extensions, or terminologies for the FHIR resources it references.

For example, resources such as AllergyIntolerance or Medication may be exchanged as base FHIR resources without additional CA:FeX-defined constraints. In the future, CA:FeX is expected to adopt and reference stabilized CA Core+ profiles for specific resource types where applicable.

A draft subset of CA Core+ profiles is available at simplifier.net/ca-core. Over time, the CapabilityStatements defined in this specification are intended to reference stabilized CA Core+ profiles, which represent models from the pan-Canadian Health Data Content Framework (pCHDCF).

For guidance on how this specification expects interactions with base FHIR resources, see the Capability Statements section.
