Business Context

For public health systems to receive notifications, they must subscribe to a particular subscriptionTopic on the FHIR Pub/sub server. A SubscriptionTopic will be set up in advance that specifies the event trigger and what fields the notification can filter on. For ODIMSS notifications, the filter criterias have been determined as follows:

• a DiagnosticReport with a test request marked as "reportable to Public Health" (i.e. ZBR.9 = PH2)

or

• a DiagnosticReport with a result code XON-

The event trigger will be when OLIS receives a new lab report (i.e. receiving a new ORU message).
