Devices with Multiple UDIs

PoCD devices must support UDI across devices that scale from very simple to very complex, as well as fixed configurations and dynamically (during option) additionl / removal of components. In the more complex cases, a single device configuration may have multiple UDIs associated with the overall device and then with subsystems (even at a sensor level). It is important that UDI information be captured in a single FHIR resource - namely Device.

The following diagrams illustrate how to formalize UDI information as related to the general model presented below in Profiles.
