Care Settings

All data in CareCentric is held in "tenancies" which are specific to the source of the data (typically a specific NHS organisation, or a service within an organisation).

Each tenancy has a "type" which identifies the care setting type for that source of data, and an ODS code to identify the source organisation. It is possible for the same organisation to have more than one tenancy if the organisation provides services for more than one care setting - e.g. an Acute trust that also provides mental health services.

Each tenancy has an ID which is assigned by Graphnet when a new feed of data is established. Tenancy IDs are globally unique across all CareCentric instances.

The tenancy ID and tenancy "type" (representing the care setting) are both returned in the meta section of all FHIR resources:

"meta": {
      "tag": [
        {
          "system": "https://fhir.graphnethealth.com/CodeSystem-Tenancies",
          "code": "370"
        },
        {
          "system": "https://fhir.graphnethealth.com/CodeSystem-TenancyType",
          "code": "gp"
        }
      ]
    }

The current possible values for tenancy type are:

  • acute
  • cancer
  • community_health
  • mental_health
  • combined_community_mental_health
  • hospice
  • gp
  • social_care_adult
  • social_care_children
  • ooh
  • ambulance

Filtering by Care Setting

It is also possible to filter the data on care setting when querying the FHIR APIs:
