##  Examiner Contacted

**Examiner Contacted** is a profile of the [FHIR STU3 Observation
](http://www.hl7.org/fhir/observation.html) resource. It is used to convey an indication as to whether the medical examiner (or coroner) was contacted to conduct a death investigation. A medical examiner is typically contacted when the situation involving death is sudden and unexpected or when there is cause to believed that the cause of death was other than natural.
