MIO DiGA Toolkit

Based on the law concerning the modernisation of digital health care and nursing services (German: Digitale-Versorgung-und-Pflege-Modernisierungs-Gesetzes - DVPMG) the German Federal Governmend announced that beginning on the 01th of January 2023 statutory insured persons will be given the opportunity to upload data from digital health care applications (DiGA) to the ditigal patient file (German: digitale Patientenakte - ePa) using an interoperable export format. Based on its modular structure the MIO DiGA Toolkit will provide a possibillity to map digital heatlh care relevant data within the DiGAs listed in the § 139e SGB V directory (last update: 08th of June 2021)

MIO-Implementation

The MIO DiGA Toolkit is a stucture for medical data defined sematically and syntactically bei the German Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (German: Kassenärztliche Bundesvereinigung - KBV) based on § 355 SGB V. With the implementation of the DiGA Toolkit, medical data of the DiGA will not only be accessable by the insured person within its ePa application but also for the attending medical personal.

Further advantages for the MIO DiGA implementation:

  • for DiGA developers: usage of a unified and interoperable standard
  • for attending medical personal: simpified transmittion of the data from the DiGA to the primary system
  • fulfilling the requirements for interoperable interfaces set by the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (German: Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte - BfArM)
  • for DiGA-manufacturers: active contribution to the MIO development

DiGA Toolkit TAKE-OFF Workshop (22nd of June 2022 and 6th of July 2022)

Within the workshop we want not only to speak about obstacles we see when it comes to interoperability and the further DiGA development but also give DiGA developers and manufactures the possiblity to give active input to that process.
