DFT-preBallot - The specification is a DFT-preBallot version of CA Core+ for collecting community feedback. For a full list of available versions, see the Directory of published versions
Welcome to the CA Core+ Implementation Guide.
CA Core+ defines a foundational set of FHIR profiles, extensions, and terminology artifacts aligned with the Pan-Canadian Health Data Content Framework (PCHDCF), including the Canadian Core Data for Interoperability (CACDI). It supports consistent health data exchange across Canadian jurisdictions by providing:
This release is intended to support feedback, alignment, and gradual convergence across pan-Canadian and jurisdictional implementations. The guide is structured into the following sections:
Section | Purpose |
---|---|
Business Context | Introduces the purpose of the guide and how it fits into broader national health data initiatives. |
Technical Context | Describes the profiling methodology, mapping strategies, implementation guidance, and security considerations. Start here if you're planning on building an Implementation Guide or software using CA Core+. |
Modules | Organizes profiles into modular groupings, such as Workflow, to support reuse, layering, and easier navigation. |
FHIR Artifacts | Central location for all defined FHIR artifacts: profiles, extensions, value sets, data type profiles, and examples. |
Change Log | Tracks specification changes, lists known issues, and provides a place to collect feedback from implementers and reviewers. |
This version of CA Core+ is published as a draft Continuous Integration Build. It is intended to support early adoption, implementation testing, and public feedback prior to formal balloting.
