  "description": "The Longitudinal Record Access Project (LRA) aims to serve the entire province of British Columbia by making clinical data broadly available from multiple sources – on demand – in a secure, streamlined, and standardized way. The goal of LRA is to serve all healthcare staff and citizens. LRA operates as a back-end service, employing open standards to design, develop, and implement provincial Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and clinical data repositories based on Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards.\r\n•\tAccess will be provisioned through BC’s federated Identity and Access Management (IDAM) infrastructure currently being built out for providers and patients.\r\n•\tData will be exposed through LRA APIs to clinical information systems, Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), and provider / patient portals using either direct FHIR API integration or SMART on FHIR applications.\r\nThe target is for LRA to be highly interoperable - scalable, reliable, and performant for all of BC.",
